Welcome to the Read 4 Life Review Page!

The purpose of this Blog is for students to write reviews of their Read4Life books so that other students can decide if they also would like to read the novel. When writing a review, don't just say that you liked or disliked a novel... but please try to explain why or why not. Also, please be sure to Not give away the end of the novel. This is called "Novel Spoiler", and it is as annoying as "movie spoiler".  See some reviews given on Amazon.com for an example.

Here are some other things you may want to consider including in your review...

  • How would you categorize this novel (into which genre)?
  • How would you describe the author's style? a hard read; an easy read, lots of description; unique sequence of events; various points of view used? How did the style affect your reading of the novel?
  • Are the main characters believable? Could you relate to any of them? Know anyone like them (Do not list any actual names, please)?
  • Was this book like any other books you've read before? (If you like that; you'll like this...)

Here is a page on Scholastic's web site concerning how to write a well-constructed student book review with additional tabs on Writing Tips; Writing Challenges; Guidelines;  and a sample review.
